Do you ever wonder why some people seem to struggle so much with money– overspending or not saving–when really, YOU know that money is just a means to get things done? You know its highest purpose is to achieve the goals you set, and it is “simply” a tool to make your vision come to life.
Doesn’t everyone know this about money?
Chances are, if this resonates you have a lot of “mission driver” energy within you.
The Four Money Energy Patterns
We all carry within us four different energy patterns around money— these patterns come together to form our money personality. And it is the energy of the Mission Driver pattern that says money’s highest use is to achieve meaningful goals and create impact.
What Mission Driver Energy Looks Like
The mission driver energy pattern is powerful.
When women have a strong dose of it, they know what they want, and they drive towards it. This may be a business they run, or the school PTA, or a cause they champion.
For these women, money is a tool to help their mission. They would say it’s not really about the money, but rather what one can do with it. This is about money as power. And more importantly, it is about moving your vision forward in the world.
Money, as used in philanthropy or by “cause-inspired” women, becomes a tool to do a lot of good in the world. This energy pattern is vital to accomplish an important mission.
And yes, this is also the energy pattern of many management-oriented women, including those in the “C Suites”. They are comfortable talking about, and managing, business money.
Why Mission Driver Energy Helps Women Succeed
This money energy pattern helps when one is self-employed, or is in a management position, as they are more comfortable asking for their worth. After all, it’s really about the value that they and their company bring, and they are more at ease with claiming this value.
Women with a healthy amount of this energy pattern are intense, focused and driven. They can also work tirelessly to protect those they consider under their care. This type often works hard and plays hard.
The Downside: Every Strength Has a Shadow
Is there a downside to this energy pattern? Yes.
This energy can lead to overworking. And while they certainly appreciate the details of money that people can provide them, they don’t always have the patience to do the detailed work themselves.
In their ideal world, they would simply delegate all non- essential work.
And if they are not careful, they can have a cavalier attitude towards debt, since money– including debt–exists to help their business, life, or mission.
The Upside: Vision Made Real
But the plus side to this energy is enormous.
When you have a good dose of the mission driver in you, you can see your vision made manifest in the world. It simply must be balanced with the three other energy patterns of money—Liberty energy, Safe Harbor energy and Aid Worker energy.
