If you value freedom and flexibility in how your money is spent, then chances are, you are a Liberty money personality type. Many women cherish freedom as one of their top values, and love the idea of using money to do what they want, when they want it. No time clocks, no one telling them what to do. Ideally, no limits. Living life on their terms. It’s a wonderful money energy pattern.
We all carry within us four different energy patterns around money— these patterns come together to form our money personality. And it is the energy of the Liberty pattern that says money’s highest use is to keep us free, give us flexibility and allow us to always be in the driver’s seat of our lives.
Liberty women are generally generous people, who love enjoying life.
And these freedom loving women who really help other people also enjoy life. They tend to have wider social circles and many social connections. (They may or may not be extroverted, but people often think they are.) They often love travel and adventure and enjoy variety in many aspects of life. And they tend to gravitate towards self-employment or contract work so they can set their own schedules.
What is not to love about all of this? This intense focus on freedom has a downside that it pays to be aware of. Liberty personalities often don’t like managing money, and they sometimes get in trouble with debt. They may enjoy having it to spend and do what they want, but they don’t always take the time to manage it. They sometimes tell themselves that money details are too “tedious” to deal with. (Sometimes their answer is “I’ll make so much money that it will all be fine. Then I don’t need to manage it.”)
At the extreme, a Liberty personality may only live for today and potentially run up credit card debt to enjoy life in the moment. The future is, well, later.
But the plus side to this energy is enormous. When you have a good dose of the Liberty personality, you are good at enjoying life and helping others enjoy it too. The point of money is not simply to save it, but to also use it and savor it. It simply must be balanced with the three other energy patterns of money—Safe Harbor energy, Mission Driver and Aid Worker energy.
